Abstract: Air embolism is a life-threatening complication caused mainly by a variety of surgical or other invasive procedures. Air embolization may occur in the venous or the arterial circulation, even without any symptoms or signs. Its diagnosis could be missed and delayed. Early detection and appropriate treatment may improve the prognosis.
