Acute eosinophilic pneumonia in the elderly: A case report and literature review

Abstract:

Objective To investigate the clinical characteristics, diagnosis and treatment of acute eosinophilic pneumonia. Methods The bronchoalveolar lavage and lung biopsy were performed in this patient, and glucocorticoid was managed, the pulmonary iconography result was recorded. Results The therapeutic result showed that the symptoms improved significantly, the pulmonary inflammatory exudates were completely absorbed. Conclusion This findings demonstrates that clinical symptoms of acute eosinophilic pneumonia are atypical, the glucocorticoid therapy following bronchoalveolar lavage and lung biopsy is quick and effective, with favourable prognosis.
