Abstract: Critical care ultrasound was introduced to China in 2008 by Prof. Liu Dawei. In May 2013, Chinese Critical Care Ultrasound Study Group (CCUSG) was set up in Chengdu.  CCUSG conducts standardized training classes throughout China, spreading and popularizing critical care ultrasound concepts and applications. Critical care ultrasound is different from traditional ultrasound. This paper provides a brief overview of the characteristics of critical care ultrasound,  the use of critical care ultrasound in clinical practice and its sustainable and innovative development.
