Abstract: Objective  To systematically review the correlation between DRD3 Ser9Gly variant and the risk of essential tremor. Methods  PubMed,  Web of Science,  CNKI,  WanFang Data,  VIP database and Chinese Biomedical Literature Database were searched to collect case  control studies on the DRD3 Ser9Gly polymorphism and primary open angle glaucoma from inception to September 30th,  2019. Two reviewers independently screened literature,  extracted data and assessed the risk of bias of included studies. Meta analysis was performed by Stata 14.0 software. Results   A total of 8 studies were included,  which involved 1 456  cases and 1 651 controls. The results of meta analysis showed that  individuals that carried GG+GA genotype risked more with essential tremor than those carried AA genotype (OR=1.16, 95%CI[1.00, 1.35], P=0.043);Subgroup analysis based on race showed that significant correlation between DRD3 Ser9Gly polymorphism and essential tremor risk in the Asians and Caucasians. Conclusion  DRD3 Ser9Gly polymorphism is significantly associated with susceptibility to   essential tremor among Caucasian population,  and more risk may exist in individuals that carried GG+GA genotype.
